This resort, situated between Cape Town and Port Elizabeth, approximately eight kilometres from Mossel Bay and forty kilometres from George’s airport on the Garden Route, boasts one of the mildest climates in the world!

Discover a part of this treasure on the ATKV walk right next to the sea. The sea poems of sixteen famous Afrikaans poets can be read on this two kilometre stroll. For studious holidaymakers the resort also offers a museum on the Great Trek, with interesting exhibitions.

If you’re not a caravan enthusiast, you can make yourself at home in one of our beautiful 3-bedroom houses or spacious rondavels.

ATKV Hartenbos self-catering beach resort offers action, relaxation and fun in the sun and the sea for everyone. You can make a dash for the outdoor swimming pool or relax in the warm indoor swimming pool.

There is putt-putt, trampolines, tennis, bowls and video games. At sunset you can take a long walk on the beach - just you, the sand and the sea for kilometres on end!

EXTRAS FOR YOUNG AND OLD

The ATKV Hartenbos museum offers a Great Trek presentation. See how the 1838 Voortrekkers lived and also relive the Symbolic Ox Wagon Trek of 1938. The latest addition to the museum is the Hartenbos room, which depicts the history of Hartenbos.
