The resort is situated at the foothills of the majestic Amphitheatre
with a panoramic view of the Northern Drakensberg range - an
international World Heritage Site.
We plan on making your visit to ATKV Drakensville an unforgettable
Drakensberg experience! This popular family resort is now the sixth
jewel in the ATKV’s string of prime resorts.
Our guests can enjoy the wide-open spaces and the wide variety of
outdoor activities that ATKV Drakensville offers. There are a number
of unique historical landmarks in the immediate proximity and of
course some of the most breathtaking vistas you can imagine.
Add to this our warm hospitality and it’s easy to understand why so
many guests come back for more or that the resort can boast with so
many formal awards.
Accommodation:
Rooms
The Resort offers a wide range of accommodation, from self-catering
units for two to spacious self-catering family houses as well as
luxury bed & breakfast rooms.
Rooms and houses are serviced daily, each unit is comfortably
furnished, fully equipped and comes with DSTV.
Bed &

This is a room (one-bedroom with single or double beds) with en
suite bathroom.
Meals are served in Admiral Weston Restaurant
Flats (***
Star)
1 Bedroom (single or double), open plan kitchen with dining area and
on suite bathroom.
Houses (**
Star & *** Star)
Each house comprises of 3 bedrooms:
- 6 people (4 single beds + 1 double bed)
- 8 people (6 single beds + 1 double bed)
All houses offers Dining room, Living room, Kitchen, One toilet,
Three bedrooms & One bathroom.
The 2-star units offers a choice of shower or bath whilst the 3-star
units have a shower and bath.
The following is provided in all the units:
Cutlery & crockery, Fridge/freezer, Microwave, Stove, Bedding,
Towels (only in 3-star units)

Bird watching
With numerous bird species, bird watchers visiting Drakensville will
not be disappointed.
Fishing
One of the best-kept secrets of Drakensville is its abundance of
Karp and Barbel. The dam is a regular favourite with the serious,
skilled fisherman and uninitiated visitors.
Guided horse rides
Horse riding at Drakensville is a great way to spend a day, with
breathtakingly beautiful sights of the Drakensberg range. There are
numerous spectacular bridle paths that can be comfortably managed by
the inexperienced rider.
Pony rides
Pony rides available for the younger children on the resort property
near the pool and games room.
Hiking trails
Explore the summit landscape covered with grasses and numerous
wildflowers and smaller animal species on our self guided hikes or
discover the small hidden treasures of rock art on our guided hikes.
Mountain
biking
The many dirt access roads allow far a satisfying mountain biking
experience, there are two-wheel trails of varying levels of fitness
an competence. Note: To do these trails your own bike is required.

All the activities are accompanied by well trained instructors of
the Environmental Centre:

How to get there:
Directions from Johannesburg
Take N3 to Harrrismith. Turn onto R712 Northern Berg/Qwa-Qwa road,
travel 8 kms turn left onto R74 – Bergville road. Travel ± 50 kms to
the base of Oliviershoek Pass.
Here you will see the turn off to Drakensberg, turn left and follow
the signage to Drakensville Berg Resort – Tar road
Direction
from Durban
Take N3 pass Ultra City at Estcourt and turn left to Northern Berg/Berville
R74. Travel through Winterton and Bergville. From Bergville 28 kms.
Here you will see the turn off to Drakensville, turn right and
follow the road to Drakensville Berg Resort – Tar road
