secluded patch of garden, or onto lovely
manicured lawns, with views of the homestead
fields and vineyards close by. A sparkling
pool is reserved for the exclusive use of
guests to the Sondela Country House
Wildlife:
How much do
you really care about conserving our
wildlife? Life is hectic, and we are all
focused on the one thing to ensure our
future – survival. We work harder, earn
more, and worry more… Things are tough,
really tough, and the race for survival is
the toughest of all. It is even truer in the
animal kingdom. Environmental issues such as
global warming, pollution, availability of
resources and many more pose an even bigger
threat for our wildlife. Roaming free is an
illusion; a wild animal can only roam free
as far as the next fence, the next tar road,
and the next city boundary… Countless
animals are killed on the highways and
byways, beautiful majestic birds get
severally burned by electrical cables, owls
fly head on into oncoming traffic head
lights, cubs get born in captivity… Yes, in
the race for survival, our wildlife are the
scavengers at the bottom of the food chain.
The problem is, since we have taken them
under our own management, we remain
responsible for their care and survival,
especially orphaned or injured wildlife that
has nowhere else to turn for a chance to
survive. Wildlife Centre - This wonderful
facility situated within walking distance of
the Sondela reception area will surely
capture your imagination, and the little
residents will most definitely capture your
hearts. Touch, feel and tour through the
Sondela Wildlife Centre and let the team
share their vast experience, dedication and
passion for hand rearing, care and handling
of wild animals, with you. At the Sondela
Wildlife Centre, we: • care for wild animals
in distress • rescue and rehabilitate sick
or injured wild animals to ensure a safe
future for our animals. • hand rear orphaned
wild animals • provide comfortable safe
holding facilities for animals • create a
better world by improving the welfare of
wild animals and educating people in an
entertaining manner to care for our natural
heritage.
