The
farm is 1430 hectares with
a range of dry plains, thorny woods, and watering holes.
Some of the watering holes are maintained by artificial
wells, so the animal life around them is diverse and
many bird species visit a pond that is a short walk from
the Lodge. There are so many insect species. It is an
enclosed game farm protected by electric fences. The
farm has serviced and running bore holes and is fenced
with a 24 strand game fence over 15km’s that is well
maintained as well as 65 km of farm roads well looked
after. On the farm you will find:

Akasia lodge is
breeding with white lions;
there are 2 tamed lions that you can interact with,
which were hand reared on the farm. They have a pair of
lions of 4 years old, one of which is 100% white, the
other with 50% white genes. A new baby was born on 28
March 2008.
They
have been hunting on the farm for 6 years, with regular
clientele in the hunting season. All the above animals
except Giraffe and Lion can be hunted on the farm.
For
the last 4 years, students from Manchester University,
England did their field trips in groups of 30 people.
They stayed on the farm for 11 nights with full catering
offered. This is an ongoing yearly event for the
University. Akasia Lodge is an ideal venue to study the
behavior of animals.

lodge sleeping 10 people in 5 separate chalets, four of
which are twinned bedded with an en-suite shower rooms.
A double bedroom with an en-suite bathroom is also
available.

A lounge deck over the kitchen joins a viewing deck
which is situated over the bar and looks down to the
dam.
These are joined by a central walk way which goes
through the centre of the lodge.
Outside towards the
pool is another braai area and a lapa over looking the
swimming pool.
