
Paradise
Lodge is conveniently situated as a stopover on the way to or from the Kruger
Park (Phalaborwa & Punda Gates). The Lodge is an ideal base to visit the
Nylsvlei Nature Reserve and the Doorndraai Dam, and the Euphoria golf estate.
The Makapan Valley (a world heritage site), a Crocodile farm and San Rock art
are all in the vicinity. The area also offers two golf courses and horse riding.
Paradise Lodge (South Africa) is located within easy access on a tar road from
Naboomspruit, which is on the edge of the Waterberg Mountains.
Accommodation:
Spacious chalets set in the
beautiful gardens of the lodge offer facilities for those who want either
self-catering or a bed and breakfast option. All chalets boast a fully equipped
kitchen, with fridge and gas or electric cooker and all the necessary
implements. They all have colour televisions, comfortable sofas as well as
welcome tea and coffee.

Relax at the lapa overlooking
the pool and a small dam where birds and game drink. The pool is heated via
solar panels and can be used nearly all year round.
Spend your evening in the boma for braais around a log fire.
Bushbaby / Lourie
These are attractive chalets with its own large covered stoop with a built in
braai looking out onto the veld. The Chalet is set up for two people with a
double bed, comfortable sofas, Colour television, its own shower room. Fully
equipped kitchen, welcome tea and coffee, dining area.
Kingfisher
This attractive chalets with its own large covered stoop with a built in braai

The Terrace
Four spacious cottages. Three are set up with a large lounge with sofa couch,
dining and kitchen with a separate bedroom with bathroom off. The forth is the
same but with a separate kitchen and two bedrooms set up with a double in one
and a single in the other. All have their own stoop with braai.
The Guesthouse
In the guesthouse there are three spacious bedrooms over looking the garden,
with double beds. The rooms have complimentary tea and coffee and there is a
separate bathroom and shower opposite the rooms.
All rooms in the guesthouse are non-smoking. Games room. Boasting a free pool
table, table tennis & Darts.
Syringa
The Syringa Chalet is equipped with disabled access and convenience. Spacious,
with two double beds, a single bed and an additional single bed if required.
Syringa offers accommodation for two to six people. The bathroom is equipped
with hand rails and a large shower with seat. Fully equipped kitchen, welcome
tea and coffee, dining area and lounge with colour television.
Jacaranda
The Jacaranda chalet offers a double bed in the main room and two single beds in
a separate bedroom and is available for two to four people. The bathroom is
equipped with a shower. A fully equipped kitchen, with welcome tea and coffee,
dining area and comfortable seating with colour television gives the feeling of
home away from home.

At the Lodge
The Lodge forms part of the Nylsvlei Floodplain.
The Unique Nyl Floodplain is the largest inland floodplain in South Africa, it extends from Modimolle (Krankop) Mountain near Nylstroom tin the South to Potgeitersrus some 60 KM further North reaching 16000 hectares when fully inundated. The variety of underlying geological formations a support a unique biodiversity of plant and animal communities. Typical bushveld savanna surrounds the grassveld floodplain.
Paradise Lodge falls within this floodplain making it an ideal base for birding at the Lodge and in the area.
Enjoy the bushveld either on foot, Mountain bike or in
game viewing vehicles and spot game and birds.
| Swimming pool area | Paradise Lodge boasts a heated pool (by solar panels) that overlooks the veld. The Lapa that is situated next to the Pool is an ideal way to relax and to watch the birds and game that come to a water hole close by. DSTV is available in the Lapa for sporting events. |

to do in the area
Paradise Lodge is in the Waterburg region of Limpopo and has a variety of different things to do if you do not fancy sitting, relaxing at the Lodge. Facilities on offer include:
Nyslvley Nature Reserve Set in the bushveld similar to that of Paradise Lodge, the 4000 hectare reserve has 70 species of mammals, 58 species of reptiles and 365 recorded bird species of which 104 are water birds, 87 of them breeding. Eight red data listed species breed on the floodplain. The reserve was listed as a RAMSAR site, an internationally important habitat for waterfowl in July 1998.
Open daily 06h00 - 18h00 every day of the year, visitors can walk or ride bikes on the good road system. There are also 5 hides that overlook almost permanent water.
| Doorndraaidam | Set in 7000 hectares the reserve has fishing facilities on its 395-hectare dam. Game and bird life and hiking trails. Water sports are also available on the dam, please enquire if you are interested as no equipment is supplied at the dam. |
| Horse Riding | Take a ride in the veld on horse back, there are a couple of different stables in the area to enjoy this experience. |
| Quad biking & 4 X 4 | There are a number of different routes to take in the area, details on request. |
| Golf | The local golf course is about 5km away and allows non members along with members of different courses to take a round or two. |
| Game Drives | Visit a variety of different lodges that offer game drives for day visitors including a 12000 hectare reserve stocking the big 5. |
| Crocodile Farm | Experience crocodiles close up at a farm, open daily to the public |
| Makapans Valley | The 3 million year old valley is the only place in the world where such an extended and complete record of hominid occupation has been observed |
| San Rock Art | Short hiking trails to bushman paintings, Rock art and a wide selection of fauna and flora |
| Rhino Museum | The first museum in the world devoted entirely to the conservation of the Rhinoceros |
| Hot springs | There are various hot springs in the area which one is able to visit for the day. |

Our conference facility is designed for groups wanting to get out of the office to do some serious training or brain storming in a relaxed bushveld setting. As we are located only 2 hours from Joburg (1.5 hours Pretoria) Paradise Lodge is the ideal setting for an out of office seminar.
