Ya Mati: Situated on the banks of the
Banks of the Blyde River, just off the R531, Magical Ya Mati awaits
.......................... Hidden under lush trees, surrounded by
beautifully kept lawns and the Blyde River running through it, Ya
Mati is the ideal venue for that very special wedding or function.
It has a unique stone and thatch chapel, spacious riverside function
facilities and 5 luxury self catering chalets (can sleep 30 people)
When its time for that well earned
break and you need to escape the rat race, the peace and
tranquillity of Ya Mati will have you coming back for more.
Ya Mati is well situated as a base
to visit many of the other destinations in the Lowveld area
Camping
Ya Mati must have the most unique
camp site in South Africa, with eleven exclusive stands each
equipped
with a water and electricity point. For residents and those passing
by, a visit to the teagarden or newly opened restaurant is a must.
Chalets
Forest Camp accommodates a maximum
of 20 people in 10 secluded, luxuriously appointed thatched, log or
reed chalets. Each chalet is uniquely decorated, has en-suite
facilities and ceiling fans in the bedrooms ensuring a most
comfortable stay.
Restaurant
The main building is where the
dining room and deck are situated. The deck overlooks a small shady
waterhole under a canopy of large trees where Nyala and Bushbuck
come to quench their thirst together with Samango monkeys under the
watchful eyes of birds such as green Twinspots, Paradise Fly
Catchers and Pygmy Kingfishers. The waterhole is floodlit at night
and visited by nocturnal animals such as Bush pig, Civet and
Porcupine.
Scrumptious home style meals are served around a bushveld fire or on
the thatched deck set high above the forest floor.
All meals are served buffet style:
Breakfast is served between 7:15
am to 9.00 am
Lunch between 1:00 pm to 1:30 pm
Dinner (either buffet or braai)
at 7:00 pm
Tea/coffee, rusks & cookies are
available 24 hours a day.

Weddings of up to 160 can be held
in our marquee tent and up to 100 people in our newly built
restaurant.
