Mabalingwe Nature
Reserve.
Spread over more than 12 500 hectares of soft rolling hills, this
malaria-free reserve is host to the big 5,
and also hippo, giraffe, hyena and sable to name but a few of the 36
species of wildlife. For the bird lovers there are more than 250 species
of bird to be spotted. Mabalingwe offers affordable accommodation from
self-catering chalets to en-suite lodge rooms and rustic bush camps.
Enjoy game viewing from open safari vehicles or atop the ambling gait of
the horses, with sleepovers at the various bush camps. For the more
energetic there are a number of hiking trails on offer.

are able to make full use of mountain bike trails, many hiking and
walking trails, or riding on horse back through this area.

Mabulani Game Reserve nestles in the
lovely Waterberg Mountains, 50 km from Warmbaths and 150km from
Pretoria. Mabulani is in a malaria-free area. Mabulani`s unique
chalets were designed not to disturb nature and to blend with the
environment. With the extensive use of wood, thatch and rock unusual,
natural and very private chalets were created.

Balerno Bush Lodge:
rustic design blends almost seamlessly with the surrounding landscape.
Situated directly next to the Mapungubwe National Park and World
Heritage Site, it nestles between sandstone hills in the mopane bushveld
north of the Soutpansberg in the Limpopo Province. Accommodation
for up to fourteen people (19, if required) in four spacious, thatched,
two-bed roomed chalets, each bedroom equipped with a free-standing fan
and en-suite bathroom – six with showers, one with bath. All

Shiluvari
Lakeside Lodge:

Conservancy overlooking the Dam with sweeping views of the Soutpansberg.
Once the old farmhouse, the Lodge now boasts an intimate country

40,000 ha Balule Nature Reserve, which is
situated inside the greater Kruger National Park.
There are no fences between Balule Nature Reserve and the Kruger
National Park, which means all the animals can move freely between

Dam Lodge: The Dam
Lodge's rustic settings ensure that you experience the tranquillity and
beauty of the surrounding bush. Enjoy "catch and release" fishing at the
dam which is situated a few metres from the chalets. The Lodge offers
self catering facilities are provided to ensure an undisturbed and
peaceful stay and can accommodate up to 8 people.

KunKuru is the
Tswana word for “Roan Antelope.” KunKuru is about 600Ha. It used
to be a cattle farm until the Edmonds decided to rehabilitate the farm
and restore it to its former glory. Part of KunKuru includes a mountain
which is part of the Elandsberge which in turn is part of the Waterberg
mountain range, overlooking the Springbok flats, which was once the
biggest volcanic crater on earth.
The owners strive to keep KunKuru as natural and unspoiled as possible
and love to share it with nature lovers and conservationists such as
themselves, as well as share their knowledge with "city dwellers" who
wish to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life and enjoy the

The Mapungubwe
National Park borders on the Limpopo river and offers spectacular
views of the river and South Africa's neighbours, Botswana and Zimbabwe,
at the confluence of the Shashe and Limpopo rivers.
It is situated 60 km west Musina and 230 km north west of Polokwane, the
capital town of Limpopo Province.
The park comprises the Mapungubwe Cultural Landscape and the Mapungubwe
World Heritage Site.
Out of the mist of the mysterious past rises the Mapungubwe National
Park giving tangible proof by way of the rich fossil deposits, Bushman
rock art and gold artefacts, of ancient civilisations that once
flourished here.
