Gnu Ranch is spread over 3500ha of savannah, hills, luscious bushveld, grass plains and bird rich wetlands. Accommodation:

Rock Lodge
The lodge has two thatched units, built from the surrounding rocks. Each unit has three bedrooms opening onto a private patio all with en-suite bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen opening onto a covered deck with a spectacular view and an intimate rock boma to enjoy the music of the Bushveld nightlife around a cozy fire. When the game seek shade under the big Marula and Wild fig trees in the heat of day, the deck surrounding the elevated rock pool is the ideal place to enjoy the sunshine, or relax in the communal lodge around the pooltable or dstv. The lodge can accommodate 28 people.

Tamboti Tree Top Cabin
Ideal for a romantic getaway or quality time with family and friends. Built in the branches of a huge Tamboti tree, it surely is the ultimate in privacy and uniqueness. The two bedroom cabin has a private swimming pool, intimate fireplace, fully equipped kitchen and a deck overlooking a bird rich wetland. The cabin can accommodate 6 people, and DSTV is available (bring your own smartcard). Any birdwatcher’s dream!

Valley Camp
The isolated farmhouse is ideal for bigger groups seeking peace, silence and a close to nature experience. The renovated farmhouse has five bedrooms, two bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen and lounge with a built-in fireplace and TV. Splash in your private swimming pool to escape the Bushveld heat, and end the exiting day around a crackling fire in the huge rock boma built under a massive Marula tree. The camp is exclusively booked for only one group at a time, and can accommodate sixteen guest (minimum 4 adults per booking).

Catering & Functions
The restaurant and bar at Rock Lodge overlooks a floodlit watering-hole, and are open on request. Our resident chef serves mouthwatering dishes for any occasion. The restaurant area can accommodate up to 50 quests seated on the thatched deck, and combined with the attached rock boma up to 90 seated quests. This naturally scenic venue is ideal for a intimate Bushveld wedding or any other special occasion.

Wildlife
The 3500ha ranch is home to 21 species of plains game like Kudu, Eland, Gemsbuck,
Hartebeest, Zebra, Bluewildebeest, Waterbuck, Reedbuck, Bushbuck, Blesbuck etc.

When the sun sets over the Waterberg, predators like Leopard, Cheetah, crocodile and Hyena often leave their tracks in the pathways to remind us of their presence. We are also part of the De Wild cheetah management program.

Activities on-site

Apart from the swimming pools, pool table and DSTV we also offer the following exciting activities.

Game viewing
We offer game-drives on a open Land-cruiser seating 10 people, alternatively drive around in your own vehicle at your own time. You will receive a map of the ranch on arrival with more than 100km of roads to explore.

Fishing
Bring your tackle box and try your luck at Bass, Kurper or Karp in any of our dams,
or bring your boat and fish at Mokolo dam, the biggest dam in Limpopo and a fly-fishing hotspot.

Hiking
Our vast diversity of topography makes for excellent hikes.

Trails
The map provided on arrival will lead you on exciting hiking, 4x4 and bike trails.

Paintball
Nothing better to kick-off a team-building weekend or end a corporate breakaway.
